I've tried it for armel.
Added
deb [arch=armel,armhf] http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports precise-proposed
main universe multiverse restricted to /etc/apt/source.lists

Then ran:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -t precise-proposed python:armel

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
python:armel : Depends: python2.7:armel (>= 2.7.3) but it is not going to be
installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I've tracked to mime-support
sudo apt-get install -t precise-proposed mime-support:armel
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package mime-support:armel is not available, but is referred to by another
package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'mime-support:armel' has no installation candidate
