I'm not sure whether to comment here or on #985661 but the load on my netbook and pc is both often above 1 after upgrading to 12.04. It looks like it got a little better with recent kernel updates (to 0.6 - 1.0 on idle, still way too high ofcours), but the system still feels obviously less responsive than it used to be pre-12.04.
