I have this same problem. This was a fresh install if the 32bit desktop on an atom chip.
I also see this message in the .xsession-errors file: Nautilus-Share-Message: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory /var/lib/samba/usershares. Error No such file or directory Please ask your system administrator to enable user sharing. I'm not running Samba, nor do I need to in my pure Linux NFS world. I fixed the above by creating the directory it wanted, but things are still slow unless I start nautilus as root. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1079566 Title: slow by opening local folder To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1079566/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
