When upgraded to Feisty with Cypress AT2+ ATA to USB controller, changing sectors does no longer fix the bug as if using Edgy kernel.
Lowering max_sectors does, generally, improve stability, but is no longer an ultimate solution. For my enclosure, setting 1024 would mean fs kernel panics and total fs messup. I would have to go as low as 16 (8 kbyte) to be almost sure nothing happens. So in some cases this hdfix is not fix.
