I have 3 soundcards, and I did the following: 1) blacklisted every soundcard module I use in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist: blacklist snd_cmipci blacklist snd_via82xx blacklist snd_emu10k1
2) re-enable modules in /etc/modules so they get loaded in the order I choose: snd_cmipci snd_via82xx snd_emu10k1 The order in the first step doesn't matter.
