Public bug reported:

I tried to update my Ubuntu from 14.04 to 16.04 from a pendrive with the latest
OS, selecting the option "update to 16.04".
It was all good until an error installing the grub. I solved this problem in a
fresh installation creating a separated partition /boot fat32 when partitioning
the HD.
But this time I don't want to loose my data and installed software.
How should I proceed?
