Already gave up on Ubuntu three years ago simply because of this. As a
experienced GTK developer (two of my GTK3 applications are in
Debian/Ubuntu repositories, abandoned but actively used) I pity that
this happened so late, just because of someone's dumb vision and not
respecing other users point of view. I'm no Linux developer anymore, but
I hope someone in the Linux world will finally see it - user is the most
important thing in this business. Not your development/UX model.
