Hello Sebastien
Thank you for the notification.
I added the repository (deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu cosmic main) to my
sources list and installed the latest Shotwell version 0.29.91.
The slideshow settings are now available and seem to be working OK. I have only
tested for about 5 minutes and it all looks good so far.
Thank you for your help
Kind regards
Mark

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 18.04 LTS - Shotwell 028.2

The Shotwell slideshow opens and works with some pre-defined settings.

When I try to access the slideshow settings, the monitor freezes but I
can unfreeze the display by pressing the Esc key.

I opened shotwell via the terminal and extracted this comment:-

  (shotwell:6518): Gtk-CRITICAL **: 10:37:09.819: Error building
template class 'SlideshowPageSettingsDialog' for an instance of type
'SlideshowPageSettingsDialog': .:20:1 Parsed template definition for
  type 'SettingsDialog', expected type 'SlideshowPageSettingsDialog'
