I believe 'transparent hugepages' are still disabled in the latest kernel configs, creating a significant barrier to THP usage (having to build a custom kernel).
Would it be possible to change the configuration of the arm64/raspi2 kernels so apps that request huge pages can get them? The performance impact on Java applications. I imagine setting CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE=y CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE_MADVISE=y would have no adverse impacts, while allowing things like a JVM to allocate huge pages, like on amd64. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1865566 Title: Large Page support disabled on Raspberry Pi kernels To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-raspi/+bug/1865566/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
