Hi Dan, Thank you for your bug report. I just came across it now, as I just ran into same issue too. Your reproducer works great, and I have started debugging the issue. At this stage it doesn't seem to be a kernel bug, or a qemu-nbd bug. I think the culprit is systemd-udevd or multipathd, as when I disable systemd-udevd, things work fine.
I will add more details to the bug report in a few days or so, once I have determined the root cause and come up with a fix.
