Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24
I'm trying to use the onda h600 (a pcmcia express card for UMTS-HSDPA) on an assembled desktop under kubuntu 8.04 alpha 6, but the problem is present even in 7.04 and 7.10. The card apparentely have a ZTE MF330 chipset, and is OHCI compliant. I want to use with elan u132, an usb external adapter for umts-hsdpa express cards. This device must load 2 modules: the ftdi-u132 when it is plugged in the usb port, and the u132-hcd, when it recognize an express card inside it. What happen is that, when I insert the card in the u132 device, the green light (it flashes, is not fix) of the u132 becomes red. On what I understand, the module ftdi-u132 is loaded but not the u132-hcd. With an dmesg command I received these data, when I plug the u132 in the usb port: [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [xxxx.xxxxxx] driver ftdi-elan built at 21:00:33 on Feb 14 2008 [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: interface 0 has I=81 O=02 [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: USB FTDI=efaea000 JTAG interface 0 now attached to ftdi192 [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: interface 1 has I=83 O=04 [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: USB FTDI=ef3d1000 ELAN interface 1 now activated [xxxx.xxxxxx] usbcore: registered new interface drive ftdi-elan If I insert the express card, I receive this message: [xxxx.xxxxxx] usb 2-1: initialized failed - trying again in 10 seconds and it is continuos: infact, if I press the return button on the keyboard, I obtain the same error, with only xxx.xxxxxx that is changed. I thought that the problem was related to the bug 129433: infact, for work, the user of the onda h600 must place in the blacklist the driver ehci_hcd, but even if I do that I obtain no good results. It seems that the second module driver, u132-hcd, have problem when it try to load itself and u132 so don't recognize the onda h600. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- onda h600 don't work with elan u132 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204533 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
