For what it is worth, I just checked my /etc/hosts file and found out that the first line was
127.0.0.1 localhost while the second line was 127.0.1.1 <hostname> Perhaps the first line was a leftover from manually editing the file in some previous setup. I have now commented it out and will post here if there are any problems arising from this.
