I have a similar problem. I can still change partitions using windows vista and fdisk but gparted does not recognize my partitions.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo gparted ====================== libparted : 1.7.1 ====================== Can't have a partition outside the disk! [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo fdisk /dev/sda The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 14593. There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024, and could in certain setups cause problems with: 1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO) 2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs (e.g., DOS FDISK, OS/2 FDISK) Command (m for help): p Disk /dev/sda: 120.0 GB, 120034123776 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 14593 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x1a661e72 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 3264 26218048+ 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda2 3265 6528 26218080 c W95 FAT32 (LBA) /dev/sda3 6529 9792 26218080 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda4 9793 14594 38572065 f W95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/sda5 9793 10612 6586618+ 83 Linux /dev/sda6 10613 11917 10482381 c W95 FAT32 (LBA) /dev/sda7 11918 13875 15727603+ 83 Linux /dev/sda8 13876 14006 1052226 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda9 14007 14593 4715046 83 Linux Correct me if Im wrong but I dont see any partition "outside" the disk. -- Gparted does not display an error dialog on overlapping partitions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/218183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
