Thanks for your report. It seems that without xorg.conf, default sync ranges are used: (II) SAVAGE(0): <default monitor>: Using default hsync range of 31.50-37.90 kHz (II) SAVAGE(0): <default monitor>: Using default vrefresh range of 50.00-70.00 Hz and there is no hint of EDID readout.
I think I have seen other reports of EDID not being read out, but it works fine on my laptop with savage Twister. And it obviously work when running Xorg -configure. Can you please attach the log generated when running Xorg -configure ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-savage in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/738086 Title: Lucid Needs xorg.conf _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
