You can specify a custom name with the --name option. It will still contain 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT, but at least you can specify your company name.
If you want to replace SNAPSHOT with your company name, you will have to edit make-distribution.sh and replace the following line: VERSION=$(mvn help:evaluate -Dexpression=project.version 2>/dev/null | grep -v "INFO" | tail -n 1) with something like COMPANYNAME="SoullessMegaCorp" VERSION=$(mvn help:evaluate -Dexpression=project.version 2>/dev/null | grep -v "INFO" | tail -n 1 | sed -e 's/SNAPSHOT/$COMPANYNAME') and so on for other packages that use their own version scheme.
