Hi Vincent, This may be a case that you're missing a semi-colon after your CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE statement. I ran your original statement (missing the semi-colon) and got the same error as you did. As soon as I added it in, I was good to go again:
CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE jsonTable USING org.apache.spark.sql.json OPTIONS ( path "/samples/people.json" ); -- above needed a semi-colon so the temporary table could be created first SELECT * FROM jsonTable; HTH!
