Still have to understand what is going on, but when I set kafka.utils.ZKStringSerializer to be ZkSerializer for ZkClient used in AdminUtils calls, KafkaProducer could see created topic... Default ZkSerializer is org.I0Itec.zkclient.serialize.SerializableSerializer.
