Check this page for firmware updates:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-e485-type-20ku/downloads?linkTrack=Caps:Body_SearchProduct&searchType=3&keyWordSearch=E485%20(Type%2020KU)%20Laptop%20(ThinkPad)

From what I can tell, the latest firmware is V1.45 as of July, 2018.
There are two versions available. The first, at:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-EDGE-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-E485-TYPE-20KU/downloads/DS503790

requires Windows 10 to install the new firmware. The second, at

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-EDGE-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-E485-TYPE-20KU/downloads/DS503791

appears to be a bootable ISO image that you can burn to a CD/DVD or USB
thumbdrive. You'd boot off that media to update the firmware (I'm
calling it "firmware" and not BIOS because technically it's BIOS/UEFI
code).

Replacing a mobo on a laptop isn't for the faint-of-heart and is pretty
drastic. I've done it, but I've been doing electronics for >45 years. I
wouldn't recommend trying it unless you're comfortable with that level
of expertise, and certainly not to a noob.
