[users] Saving files in Mac

Working with Open Office 1.1.2 on a Mac G4 running Tiger.  Want to  
save word processing documents as  Windows files. Have figured out  
how to get .doc format but am having trouble working my way through  
the Save as procedure to get them saved so they can be recovered.
