environment.



*Position Details*

Data Warehouse Data Architect/Data Modeler including the following:

CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

*Required Skills*

·         5-10 Years Data Warehouse Modeling experience

·         5-10 Years Experience as Data Warehouse Data Architect

·         5 Years of Medicaid and Healthcare Business and Data experience

·         5 Years ERWIN experience

·         5-10 Years of SQL experience

·         Data mapping experience



*Preferred but not Required Skills*

·         Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with
programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users,
operations, other State agencies and the private sector.

·         Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be
necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan.

·         Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw
conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and
make appropriate recommendations.

·         Working with the BAs and developers, facilitate modification of
the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting
needs of the customer.

·         Ability to design applications taking into consideration data
reconciliation, (to the source system) query/reporting performance, and
analytical business value.

·         Data Modeler experience with State Medicaid data subjects areas
including Claims, Encounters, Eligibility, Provider, Member and related
business background

The Data Warehouse Modeler will be is responsible for the layout and
navigability of a database. This involves defining the tables, keys, and
relationships that will allow an application to retrieve and update data
correctly and efficiently. This may include tasks such as:

·         Working with end users and developers to understand the data
needs of State Medicaid clients.

·         Documenting the State Medicaid data warehouse data including
definitions, constraints, and access needs.

·         Creating and maintaining State Medicaid data warehouse logical
designs, including Entity Relationship diagrams, which illustrate what data
will be stored, how it is organized, how it can be retrieved (keys) and how
it relates to other data in the database.

·         Creating and maintaining State Medicaid data warehouse data
definition language (DDL) that can be used to create and update the
database.

·         Working with the State Medicaid Data Warehouse DBA and ETL
developers, modify the logical design to create a physical design most
suited to the database environment and the applications that will use it.

·         Work with State Medicaid Data Warehouse DBA and ETL developers to
create and maintain database design standards.

·         Working with end user requestors to understand their data needs
and create and implement solutions for those needs.

·         Work with developers and end user query developers to design and
improve database queries.
