Nah, there are enough people talking about tech. And there certainly are enough people talking about me.

We need more videobloggers covering other things.

One thing, though, I would think about what search terms you want to own and focus on those.

For instance, are you doing a vlog that focuses on environmentalism? Well, how come Google can't find it?

One reason tech blogs and podcasts get popular is there's a good audience online that cares about that.

What else do people care about? Are you doing a Vlog about that? Can people find it, how?

I don't know that you need to talk about yourself. I do a video series for Microsoft that's gotten very popular and I just interview other people about what they are working on.

Subject: Re: [videoblogging] Re: vloggercon mention on twit

maybe more vloggers need to talk about scoble, doc searls, TWIT, Winer, etc.. More vloggers need to talk about themselves and focus solely on internet culture and tech stuff... that way the people using RSS, the podcasters, and te big-wigs will love us...

I prefer to make videos about the rest of life outside of the internet.. I find it to be much more fulfilling and dramatic..

I find that to be the trend though, things like GETV, and Rocketboom will get their attention because they are geared more towards their area of interest... I highly Doubt that Leo Laporte is gonna lose his sh$& over my new kitten, but that is ok by me. I mean it would be awesome to hit the front page of DIGG, but my vlogs don't serve that audience...

It is always tough because the people who are constantly using the internet and pioneering new ways to use it, are interested in "tech stuff" more than personal stories. (understandably so) So "Internet Success" is determined by the people with those interests. This is why we need to teach all the moms, grandmas, teens, blue collar joes, and white collar joans about this new way of finding content.

I'd love a mass audience of a thousand grannies, cause I know that my content isnt gonna hold the attention of all the DIGG users, techTV viewers, and PHP freaks.

TWIT is just one voice (a louder voice at the moment) but it is or job to make the rest of people's voices jsut as loud...

I was most surprised by how disconnected and dismissive the
TWiT/dl.tv/digg crowd was towards videoblogging in general. Hopefully
they will show up and have a change of heart and understand why going to
a conference at the Swedish American Hall is ten times better than going
to yet another blah-tech-expo at the Moscone Center.
