I don't know if seeing you ahead of time is always a good idea.  You
may get people judging you just based on your looks.

I work in a field that requires a high degree of knowledge of
Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.  And people in the
field are judging you on your intelligence.

I tend to get the same reaction from people who have never talked to
me.  I don't "look smart" apparently.  What I get most people saying
is that I look more like a bouncer or personal trainer.  (And
apparently that means not "looking smart".)

But if the first time they see you is when they see you face-to-face,
then you have a chance to impress them with what you say and how you
answer their questions.  (And they can't just dismiss you because of
your looks.)
