Perhaps. It depends on what you mean by "older Macs."

Only the oldest don't have an ethernet port (or a version Apple called AAUI). You may need an adapter to provide a "standard" connection to the AAUI for a cat5 cable that you can connect to a "dumb hub" to create your network.
