I would always go with the Apple Earpods which now are available with a USB-C connector. They may cost $19.99 or $24.99, but in my opinion that is still relatively inexpensive and I think for that price the sound quality is fantastic and while this may not be the case for everybody, they fit my ears perfectly. I can stick in just the right side a little bit so I can hear outside sounds perfectly and for me that works great.
