Redirects should work also for mailing lists description (e.g.
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-l would redirect to
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation ) and archives (e.g.
http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/foundation-l/$1 would redirect to
http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/foundation/$1 ) to avoid massive linkrot.
This is absolutely necessary, IMHO.
This won't avoid header inconsistencies, anyway (e.g. Sender
foundation-l-boun...@lists.wikimedia.org ->
foundation-boun...@lists.wikimedia.org; To foundatio...@lists.wikimedia.org ->
both foundatio...@lists.wikimedia.org and foundat...@lists.wikimedia.org ) and
hence lots of e-mail filters to be reconfigurated (arguably nothing dramatic).
