Hello everyone, This is both a general invitation to and notice of the Wikimedia ZA AGM that will be happening in a months time on the 12th November in Cape Town.

The AGM is open to anyone with an interest in Wikipedia or related projects such as Wiki Commons, Open Street Map, Wiki Voyage and so on. *Details* - Location: Spin Street House <http://www.spinstreet.co/>, 8 Spin Street, Cape Town city centre. - Date: Saturday, 12 November 2016 - Time: 10:00 - 13:00 - Parking: Best to park at either the small parking lot at Mostert Street nearby or at the free parking lot <https://www.google.co.za/maps/@-33.9278169,18.423642,18z> on Caledon Street four blocks away. *Agenda* - Administration issues - Banking: setting up a second account for fund from sources other than the Wikimedia Foundation and change current account setup - Elect new board: VERY IMPORTANT that all board members, past and newly elected, have with them a certified copy of their ID and proof of address both which are less than 2 months old. - Summary of 2016: a year of edit-a-thons - Wikimania 2018: should we do it? - Simple Annual Grant <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Simple> - Future activities? - Sign the minutes (very important) Later in the day and weekend we will be doing something to celebrate Afrikaans Wikipedia's 15th anniversary. As you know English Wikipedia's 15th birthday was earlier in the year and we would like to do something special for one of our local language Wikipedias. I already mentioned the importance for all existing directors as well as anyone wishing to become a new director brings with them 2 certified copies of their ID and address that are less than 2 months old. We need one copy to setup our new bank account and a second to update our board with the CIPC. In the past we have experienced considerable difficulty in getting up-to-date documentation as our board is distributed across the country and we rely on volunteers to make things happen. So we will be streamlining things a bit this time to get things done more effectively. I want to thank the rest of the Wikimedia ZA board, past and present, for volunteering their time and skills to the chapter. We would not be where we are today without you.
