Dear Wikimedians, here's something that was inspired by one of the Swedish Wikidata activists (Jan Ainali) recently addressing African wikimedians on Twitter about a certain funding deadline that was looming. It was too close for me to feel able to respond, but I noted it as something that should be done at some stage.
WikiProject Govdirectory <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Govdirectory> aims to promote govdirectory.org <https://www.govdirectory.org/> to become a global user-friendly directory of government agencies and their online presence by utilizing Wikidata. I had a look at the South Africa section and a lot of it is still blank. We as a chapter could address this. I don't think paying people to migrate content from websites etc. into Wikidata would contravene the taboo against paid editing, since it's just data transfer. What do others think?
