What you keep referring to is a larger problem that has indeed caused the problem that I drew your attention to, but the point here is that the problem with the note can be easily solved without charter changes, or huge discussions, and without even changing the contents of the note. The contradiction/conflict/confusion can simply be solved by someone doing the two things that I requested, and that is, changing the title and URL of the note so it's clear that it only applies to XHTML 1.x. :-) The fact that the W3C process allows the XHTML2 WG to "not be obligated" to make the requested changes doesn't mean that the note shouldn't or can't be changed. ;-)
