It goes without saying that many people were left out of the festival. I
think that all of us who haver ever been involved with this genre of music
should just be happy that such an event has taken place. Doesn't anyone
remember standing in line outside of the Packard at 2 in the morning in the
dead of winter? For anyone who has paid the price of being involved in
Detroit techno, DEMF should have been the wonderful culmination of all those
years of hardship. This is no time for sour grapes. You can't please all
the people all the time. If anyone was conspicously absent, it was Blake
Baxter.
