You say below that most of what you have is from 10 years ago.  I would say 
things have moved on since then, there are a lot of good
mix CDs about - maybe because there are so many mix CDs now that even if the 
proportion of them that are good is no better (or even
worse!) there are still a larger number.  Really, checking a good store's wares 
should net one of two good looking ones.

I think a few answers you got are from the same era as the ones you mention.  
I'm not providing much real specific help here am I?!
But as usual when it comes to specifics my mind goes blank.  How about the 
Fabric series?  They have lots of good contributors (e.g.
Rob Hood) and sometimes even when it's people I'm either not too familiar with 
(e.g. Rub-n-Tug) or didn't expect so much of (e.g.
Ellen Allien) they're Fabric CDs are good.

If I had to pull a current mix CD I think good, that satisfies the criterion 
"thump", I'd go for Berghain 03 - Len Faki.
