I think the term 'soulful techno' is bandied about way too often...

Soul music, as in Motown etc.., was music in which the singer or songwriter bared his/her soul in the lyrics and the delivery....

A lot of (great) techno is blatantly not like this.....

I do see where Christian is coming from though.

funk (maybe) soul NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if a track/DJ performance does not
 have SOUL, what is there to make it good? maybe you don't understand the
