Just bought "The Dead Bears" on Beatport. I remembered several people rating it in the past few months...
The track "NY" is totally kicking my butt -- one of those 'wrong is right" tracks. It's slow and grindy and overcompressed, but irresistable. At first it sounds like it was recorded on a dictaphone pointed at an AM Radio tuned between stations, but there's no way the bass on this track came from a low fi or damaged production. It is a track I immediately wished I'd made. The whole CD is pretty great, but NY is so crazy it has scary eyes.
