it's a matter of preference and there are arguements for and against special
schools, but as I feel it, integrated school provides environment which is
close to the real world where one has to spend one's life.

but there might be other concerns such as availability of a good integrated
school near by. but if parrents are proactive, they can arrange for special
skills such as braille and computer litracy along with making sure that the
child can participate in regular activities, then she can be admited in a
sighted school as well.

At the end it is important that the objective is to help the child reach her
maximum potential, special school, integrated school, or sighted school, any
option is good if it serves this purpose. If the school focuses on
development of mind body and spirit, it is good, if the school helps develop
emotional maturity, it can be considered, no matter which catagory it falls
in to. If the school focuses on rote learning, it is not good. And sadly
it's not easy to find such schools which help develop mental and emotional
faculties, one really needs extensive research where one contacts with
people and observes the school in action.

Regards
Dinesh
