The copying process is now optimized in the way that there is no need any more
to switch all the documents to the running state during the saving.

But this is only an optimization that provides a workaround. The real problem is
that the cache allows to stay in running mode more objects than system can
handle. So the only correct solution is to configure the office in the way that
the maximal number of the running objects is set to correct value ( it can be
configured using "Tools/Options.../StarOffice/Memory/Cache for inserted objects"
entry ).
