------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Aug 22 16:17:15 -0700 2006 ------- I see that this issue is marked as FIXED, but I am using 2.0.3 on Windows and this is still a problem. It has been a problem since at least 1.1. Just trying to open a plain text document or copying from another application using rich text will cause OO to go completely unresponsive or crash. The thought has occurred to me that this may be a non-focused dialog problem. In many of these cases, there SHOULD be a dialog come up asking me how to import the specified file. I never see it. Instead, I get an unresponsive app. If I am copying and pasting, I can choose PASTE SPECIAL, I can then select AS UNFORMATTED and get the text okay. If I just PASTE, OO locks up. Is the text import dialog perhaps being generated, but not being forced to the foreground? Is OO waiting for me to respond to a modal dialog that I never see? Just a thought. I don't have the tools or know-how to investigate this. Does this make sense to anyone else? For some time, my workaround has been to import into MS Word or Excel, save as a Word document, then load that into OpenOffice. But come on -- that's just wrong! ;-) I would appreciate any word of an actual fix for this problem.
