------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Sep 6 14:56:03 -0700 2006 ------- Calc normally does "smart" conversion when opening a .csv file. An entry that looks like a date, e.g. '9-20', gets converted to the integer that represents September 20 of the current year. In my case, it represents a range of street addresses, and no conversion is desired. So I surrounded the data with double quotes, '"9-20"'. Calc insists on doing the date conversion nontheless. I tried this with Excel [:-(] and it converts the first case, but respects the double quotes in the second example. Calc is converting "date" fields, even when double quotes should tag them as "text" fields that should be treated literally. Default ".csv" values for separator and text delimiter were used. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
