As mysteriously as the problem began, it cleared up and is now working for me.
I suspect there have been periodic OO server problems (overloaded maybe?) which
prevented some of us from downloading OO. Although others have reported similar
experiences, it does not appear to be consistent enough for anyone to pursue.
However, I found the help less than helpful because nothing was or is wrong with
my pc configuration.
