------- Additional comments from aube...@openoffice.org Fri Dec 19 09:56:25 +0000 2008 ------- @nemeth: sorry! I forgot to reply to this issue. I went to the library last week. "Le Bon Usage du Français" (Le Grevisse) says nothing about 3-letters min hyphenation. I had a look at how hyphenation are usually done in French. It appears that books use a 3-letters minimum, but that newspapers often use a 2-letters minimum (more narrow columns), even if all of them do not use this minimum. So, the most common use of hyphenation is 3-letters minimum, but it can be 2-letters minimum in some specific case. The 3-letters minimum is advised but not mandatory. For all cases: LEFTHYPHENMIN 2 RIGHTHYPHENMIN 3 COMPOUNDLEFTHYPHENMIN 3 COMPOUNDRIGHTHYPHENMIN 3 .l'1/l= .d'1/d= NEXTLEVEL or may be LEFTHYPHENMIN 3 if we decide that we do not care of specific cases. @Sophie, Jean-baptiste: what do you think of this? @nemeth: have you implemented the ! command or is it still a future possibility? In this case, it will be: LEFTHYPHENMIN 2 (or 3) RIGHTHYPHENMIN 3 COMPOUNDLEFTHYPHENMIN 2 COMPOUNDRIGHTHYPHENMIN 3 .l'1/! .d'1/!
