The document was certainly created in a version before OOo 3.0. The coordinates
of merged/split cells have changed in OOo 3.0. But a table with merged or split
cells of an older version is not renumbered by OOo 3.x, even if you resave in
OOo 3.x as odt file.

You can see the coordinates of the current cell in the status bar. The cells at
lower-right are numbered C13.1.1 and C13.1.2.

How to reproduce :
Create in OOo 1.1.5 a simple 3x3 cells table, where the cell C3 is split
horizontally into C3.1.1 and C3.1.2. Save as xxx.sxw and close.
Open with OOo 3.x, run the macro (or equivalent): Crash.

But no crash if you split instead cell B2.
