A defect occurs when using Writer in OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 on Macintosh "MacBook
Pro" running 10.6.2.
The steps required to produce the error follows:

(1) Open OpenOffice.org
(2) Create a new document or edit an existing document in Writer.
(3) Enter and/or select some text within the document.
(4) Select Insert -> Hyperlink
(5) By default the selected text appears within the "Text" field of the
Hypertext window.
(6) Enter a Web address within the "Target" field of the Hypertext window.
(7) Click on the "Apply" button.
(8) On occasion the previously selected Text in the "Text" field is erased; the
text also disappears from
the document.
(9) Go back to the Hyperlink window, and type in the text within the "Text"
field.
(10) Click on the "Apply" button.
(11) Now the text and the hyperlink appears within the document.
(12) Close the Hyperlink window.

This error occurs frequently, but not consistently.

On occasion, entering a Hyperlink will "hang" the application (OpenOffice.org).
Please see my next Issue
entry.
