Ok, but there is a possibility that it might work for Peter, without
having to build his own ALSA drivers. So, this is just the simplest 
attempt.

1.0.11-rc2 is the version from the 2.6.16 kernel.
There is of course the uptodate 1.0.11 alsa-source package from which 
you can easily build your own alsa-modules package. But this needs more 
manual intervention.
