Here are some good reasons to continue checking outgoing mail:

- prevent internal infected (or spam zombiized) hosts from spreading
  their malware and junk;

- help Bayes database to get a balanced view of good and bad
  by continuously supplying good examples of ham to its autolearning;

- is required to make PenPals feature of amavisd to work
  (which in turn can dynamically favourize (soft-whitelist)
  incoming replies to previous outgoing messages);

- outgoing mail is usually a small fraction of inbound mail,
  if you can afford to check incoming mail, you can afford
  to check outgoing mail as well;

(you may have more relaxed settings for internally-originating mail
if needed)
