After "git clone git://android.git.kernel.org/kernel/common.git" , Try
giving "git branch -r " . Then you will find following output:

desktop:common$ git branch -r
  origin/HEAD -> origin/android-2.6.27
  origin/android-2.6.25
  origin/android-2.6.27
  origin/android-2.6.29
  origin/android-2.6.32
  origin/android-goldfish-2.6.27
  origin/android-goldfish-2.6.29

Then you can checkout the proper branch, like:

desktop:common$ git checkout origin/android-goldfish-2.6.29 -b
android-goldfish-2.6.29

Then you can find "goldfish_defconfig". Hope it will help.
