IIRC the Freerunner as on OTG USB port. If the kernel supports it, and with the correct USB adapter, you can plug an USB keyboard in there, which will be exported as an HID event input interface directly understood by Android. That's very handy when you have a limited keypad or no keyboard at all like on the OpenMoko phones.
