HJ Heinz put a press release out in March which addressed the Kerry's involvement in the company. In a nutshell, they have NO involvement.
Regarding international factories, Heinz, like all international food companies (Coca-Cola, Pepsi, & McDonalds come to mind), have factories in the countries they serve. This is in order to bring product to market in an efficient manner with the freshest ingredients. Fear not, those aren't Mexican or Canadian tomatoes you are eating: "In the United States, Heinz makes its flagship ketchup in factories in Fremont, Ohio; Muscatine, Iowa; and Stockton, California." Regarding Political donations, they are equal opportunity. "The Heinz Company PAC, which is funded by voluntary employee donations, has a policy of maintaining good relations with both major political parties, particularly focusing on those candidates whose district or state contains a Heinz facility...The practice of the Heinz Company PAC in the U.S. Presidential election is to support the nominated candidate from both major parties. Accordingly, the PAC donated $5,000 to the Bush campaign and, because the Kerry campaign does not accept PAC contributions, is donating $5,000 to the Democratic National Committee." http://www.heinz.com/jsp/presidential_statement.pdf --- In [EMAIL PROTECTED], "Jim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Does anyone no the amount of workers + factorys the Heinz company hasout of this country.I am seeing Heinz on products made in from Canada + Mexico.I know their are several Heinz factory's in Europe + Asia. ------------------------ Yahoo!
