Could it be this simple?  

Many of you support or are willing to `live with the devil you know',
while some of us believe that elected government must exercise greater
care in dealing with, what are in fact, the assets of the those who
elected them?  

If that's what separates us, all that need be done is for council to
explain the necessity for its heavy handedness and secrecy in dealing
with the ever changing needs of Fishman.
