Hello Everyone,

If I may add my two cents...Please don't forget that the School Board
election is less than two weeks away, April 19th. It is very
important that we all get out and vote. Asbury's school district has
some very crucial challenges that in the long run affect us right up
there with the redevelopment project.

Meet your candidates, ask questions, make your decisions.

You may have seen the posting that was listed on my behave, if not I
am including it below.

For those of you who were unable to attend the several gatherings
throughout the community, I would like to introduce myself as a
candidate for this year's school board election on April 19th, John
Figueiredo #3 on the ballot.

Over the past year we have seen many amazing accomplishments achieved
by the current school board, a feat that was unsuccessful by previous
boards. It is time to keep that momentum and progress at full speed
ahead. We finally have a school board that has the interest of the
students at heart.

I have witnessed several accomplishments including a rise in the
school district report cards, a huge improvement in the music program
with the contributions of pianos, money being spent efficiently and
effectively and negotiating proper contracts based on merit, not
entitlement or greed (you may recall the selection of new board
attorneys.) All this was accomplished with the efforts of the
current board.

Being a newcomer to the election, I bring a fresh perspective backed
by strong enthusiasm to do the right thing. I believe that learning
is a community affair. We need to educate the students as well as
encourage the parents to take an interest in their children's
learning process. Let's lead by example and let's encourage amity!

My education includes a B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University.
I have also, in the past, volunteered my time as a mentor to first
and second year students. As part of fulfilling some degree
requirements, I had served as a big brother to children in various
communities as well as dedicated time to working with psychologically
ill individuals.

I currently hold a management position in Human Resources with Mary
Kay, Inc. Some of my responsibilities are those that I feel are
interchangeable with the role of a school board member. Policies,
organizational decisions, maintaining and balancing budgets,
applicant process and employee relations are among the tasks that I
am accountable for.

It is important to be a catalyst as long as the energy is being
channeled in a positive manner. I am that person for you and the
community.

Please go out and vote on April 19th, the community depends on YOU!
When you are at the polls, I hope that you can see fit to vote for
me, John Figueiredo #3 on the ballot.

Please email me privately at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with any questions or
concerns.

Thank you,

John Figueiredo
