I think it's
great that so many qualified people are running for city council in this 2005
election year.
I believe that if you make the time to go to the
debate, and hear what our current government has to say, that you will agree
Asbury Park need strong new leadership. I have been to many debates before, and
although many people go to debates with their minds made up, that's not always
the case
I remember at the last city council debate (at A.P.High School),
Kevin Sanders forgot his speech and laughed it off. Jimmy Bruno couldn't
remember his speech either (yet he was backed by Weldon, so I guess it didn't
matter). John Hamilton said, at the debate at the Asbury Towers, that most
of its current residents would not live to see the beachfront fully redeveloped.
Yet, all three were elected.
Nobody is saying the current council are bad
people or involved in any improprieties.
All I would like for people to
do is to hear the other candidates, because many of them, in my professional
opinion as a local investor, are better qualified to lead this city into a
bright and rich future.
And yes, Larry Fishman will also have a rich
future. I have to say this because many times the council are worried that
the developer will not do things he is contractually bound to if he does not
constant incentives that bring him more and more money.
Hope to see you
at the debate.
