Another element in the public's rights is to have the heritage and cultural aspects of their community respected and preserved for future generations. The natural environment is easy to identify ie. the ocean etc. The built environment is not always so obvious as it is in Asbury Park. The Con.Hall, Boardwalk, Casino, BCHotel, open view corridors, wide avenues, Palace, parks, etc are all just as important to preserve. Unfortunately the current direction of redevelopment, with its massive residential zoning is in direct conflict with the goals of preserving the City's heritage and cultural assets. Interesting that environmentalists (natural) are hailed as the good guys, yet preservationists (built environment) are maligned as the enemy. Werner ------------------------ Yahoo!
