The post about a student writing that piece and getting an A is first of all so old on the internet I've probably had it emailed to me 100 times over the course of years.
Second, and as usual with internet floaters- it isn't true that a student wrote it at all. Here is the Snopes on it: http://www.snopes.com/college/exam/hell.asp After it was posted here today, it generated some anti-religious posts. Now, I could start a complete flame war and respond, but then certain people would accuse me of being off topic for "Asbury Park" and assert I picked the fight, even though I merely responded. I therefore decline to do so, but with the understanding I will gladly defend my religious beliefs (why should I have to?) in any appropriate venue. Even though I think that I'm being very polite and deferential to the group, who wants to bet that at least one person will attack this post anyway? Yahoo!
